We applied a few innovative solutions in the design of the UAV. The skeleton of the quadrocopter is made from two 10[mm] aluminum profiles which protect the motors. There are two 2[mm] carbon pipes protecting the propellers connected to each profile using CNC milled and 3D printed holders. 1[mm] thick, engraved laminate plates protects the electronics. Four 8[cm] high, hemispherical legs made of 1[mm] thick aluminum plate allow the UAV to land safely.
The structure of the quadrocopter was designed to remove the threat of destroying its internal components when hitting an obstacle. The UAV’s center of gravity is situated so that, after a collision, the drone most often lands on the ground oriented in such way that it can continue its flight.
